Amanda F Goddard, MD - MaineHealth

As a child I would briefly wonder how something I could not see could cause me to be sidelined to the couch. I was fascinated when I learnt that it could be due to an unseen virus rather than me going outside with wet hair. My fascination with the small things I could not see but could make me sick grew while at Colby College which prompted me to work for a few years as a microbiologist.  As a medical student I had the opportunity to spend a month at Maine Medical Center with the pediatric infectious diseases team and I am happy to be back.  It is a great privilege to be part of care teams that try to help when a common infection turns unexpectedly more serious or when an uncommon infection occurs.
