Introduction Toxoplasmosis is a protozoan parasitic disease caused by infection with the intracellular obligate coccidian parasite Toxoplasma gondii . It is affecting one-third of the human population around the globe. 1–3 Human Toxoplasmosis causes mild, non-specific clinical features, it is an important opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised persons and pregnant women, causing severe clinical manifestations and congenital defects. 4,5 The prevalence rate of the infection differs among different geographical regions, and most of the world's adult population documented to have contact with the parasite. 6,7 Interaction and contact between domestic animals and humans may lead to an increased risk of transmission.
